After just writing the message below, I got TWO spam comments from “Clark Kent”. That’s something I haven’t seen since 2006. I’ve been approving comments (although I didn’t know I had to for the first week, lol) and I guess I’ll continue to do so. Can a JSer turn the approval off, once the spammers are blocked?

I received 2 spam comments on my js4dummies journal, but they didn’t show .. .I could delete them. I never use the approval thing, too many emails filling my box heehee
You can ALWAYS change your setting and turn the approval off. it’s only a bit hard to find here.

Spam sure does seem to be a problem here. I have noticed this site is really really really slow too. Westy mentioned that could be due to the Spammers.
I can’t find hardly anything here, so I don’t know how to help you. Maybe password protect your posts? That is kind of a pain because you would have to send the password to everyone you wanted. Which reminds me, I need to send you my pw for here.
Hugs!

I got rid of it.

Hello my dear friend. I’m still scratching my head as to how this site works. I do love the home page though. Hopefully we will all get used to it!

yeah I was amused that I got some spam from a Russian of some kind. Worst than the spam are the serious nimrods with issues that want to take cheap shots
Handle spam and nimrods with head shaking smirks deletes

I haven’t had a single problem with any slowness on this site at all, so I’m not sure why others are experiencing that.
Go here: http://becomingkates.journalspace.com/wp-admin/options-general.php. (I got there by going to the Dashboard, then choosing the “Settings” link on the right side.) About halfway down the page, it will say “Membership” and it gives you the option to make people be registered and logged in to comment, but you don’t have to approve them all unless you want to.
